LARDERELLO AND GEOTHERMAL ENERGY (CLEAN ENERGY DERIVED FROM NATURAL STEAM)

It is located in the center of the so-called Valley of the devil, so called because of its landscape characterized by the presence of geysers with characteristic columns of white steam and a network of large external pipes from the various wells that make the landscape very special.
The country is named after Franois Jacques de Larderel, industrial livornese of French origin that around 1827 he perfected the extraction of boric acid, already begun with inefficient methods in 1818.
Larderello is the first experience in the world of geothermal energy for the production of electricity. In 1905, thanks to Prince Piero Ginori-Conti, has begun to use the energy of the heads for the generation of electricity.
Then the ENEL has built a power plant that, taking directly the steam coming out from the ground, conveys it in turbines connected to generators.
